Why wholesale peptide pricing is quoted per box, not per vial

How freight, tier gates and the per-SKU minimum quietly decide your margin, and the arithmetic that tells you whether a supplier's price break is real.

Look at any wholesale peptide price list and you will find the same shape. A per-box price, ten vials to a box, and four tiers that get cheaper as the box count climbs. What differs between suppliers is not the headline number. It is what the tier counts, and that is where your margin actually lives.

The per-SKU minimum is the real price

Most suppliers gate the discount per compound. Ten boxes of BPC-157 gets you the ten-plus price on BPC-157. Ten boxes spread across ten different compounds gets you nothing, because no single line hit the gate.

For an established shop moving one or two fast sellers, that is fine. For anyone building a catalogue, it is punishing. You either buy a hundred vials of one thing and carry the inventory risk, or you accept top-tier pricing on everything and watch your margin disappear into a wide, slow-moving shelf.

The alternative is counting boxes across the order regardless of contents. Twelve boxes spread across eight compounds prices at the twelve-box tier. This is the difference between being able to stock breadth and not, and it is worth checking before anything else on a price list.

Halden counts order-wide. It is the main reason people move to us, and it is not generosity: an order of twelve mixed boxes costs us almost exactly what twelve boxes of one thing costs us, so gating it per compound would be charging for a cost we do not have.

Freight is where the arithmetic breaks

Two dispatch routes exist in this trade and they price completely differently.

US warehouse. Freight is charged per box and scales down with volume. Roughly thirty dollars a box at low volume, twenty in the middle, ten once you are moving real quantity. Fast, domestic, no customs exposure.

Direct from China. Freight is a flat fee per order, not per box. Somewhere around seventy dollars whether you buy one box or thirty. Seven to fourteen extra days.

Get that distinction wrong in a pricing model and you produce nonsense. Apply the flat China fee per box and every small line item absorbs seventy dollars of freight it did not cause, which is how price lists end up with a 5mg vial costing more than the 10mg vial of the same compound. If you see an inversion like that on a supplier's list, it is a modelling error rather than a deal, and it tells you how carefully the rest of the list was built.

The practical consequence for a reseller: below roughly twenty boxes the US route is cheaper once freight is included. Above it the China route pulls ahead sharply, because that seventy dollars is now spread across a lot of product. If you are buying at scale and your supplier only quotes you domestic, ask what the direct route does to the number.

Working out whether a break is real

Take a supplier's list and do this:

  1. Price the exact basket you would actually buy in a month, mixed as you would really mix it.
  2. Add freight properly, per box or flat depending on the route.
  3. Divide by total vials.

That per-vial landed cost is the only number worth comparing between suppliers. Headline per-box prices at the deepest tier are marketing, because almost nobody buys at the deepest tier on a single compound.

Run the same basket against two or three suppliers and the ranking usually reverses at least once compared to what the front page suggested.

What a fair structure looks like

  • A single box is a valid order, priced at the top tier
  • Tiers count total boxes across the order, mixed freely
  • Freight quoted separately and honestly, per box domestically and flat internationally
  • No per-SKU minimum
  • The same price whether you are new or on your tenth order, with volume being the only variable

You can price a full basket on the catalogue without an account and without talking to anyone. The number it gives you is the number.

Short answers

How is wholesale peptide pricing structured?
Almost always by the box, normally ten vials to a box, with a tiered discount that deepens as box count rises. The important variable is whether the tier counts boxes of a single compound or boxes across the whole order. Order-wide counting is worth substantially more to a small reseller.
Why do some peptides cost less in a larger vial size?
Usually a freight bug. If a supplier applies a flat per-order shipping cost as a per-box cost, low volume items absorb freight they did not cause and a 5mg vial can end up priced above a 10mg one. It is a pricing error rather than a deliberate offer.
What is a normal minimum order for wholesale peptides?
A single box of ten vials is a reasonable minimum. Suppliers who set a five or ten box minimum on a single compound are using the minimum to force stock concentration, which shifts inventory risk onto you.

Discussion

Every forum in this trade bans the conversation resellers actually need to have. This one does not. Our rules, five of them.

  1. 01Sourcing talk is allowed. Name suppliers, name prices, say who let you down.
  2. 02Post test results. Third party reports are welcome even when they make us look bad.
  3. 03No dosing or medical advice. This is a trade discussion about product and supply.
  4. 04No real names, addresses or order numbers, yours or anyone else's.
  5. 05First comment is read before it appears. After that you are through.
