An eight residue elongation of acetyl hexapeptide-8 (sold cosmetically as Argireline). It is designed to interfere with SNAP-25 in the SNARE complex, the assembly involved in vesicle docking at the neuromuscular junction.
Where it came from
A cosmetic ingredient developed by peptide formulators in the 2000s as a follow on to acetyl hexapeptide-8.

State of the evidence
The supporting studies are predominantly manufacturer sponsored cosmetic panel work rather than independent controlled trials.
What a buyer should know
This is a topical cosmetic ingredient. The comparison to injectable neuromodulators that appears in marketing copy is not supported by the literature, and the two are not mechanistically equivalent in effect size or duration.
