A small molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase, the enzyme that methylates nicotinamide and in doing so removes it from the NAD salvage pathway. Interest in it sits at the junction of adipose biology and NAD metabolism.
Where it came from
Emerged from NNMT inhibitor development programmes in the mid 2010s, with the adipocyte work published from around 2018.

What a buyer should know
This is a small molecule, not a peptide, and it is often sold in capsule form alongside peptides as though it were the same category of thing. NNMT is expressed across liver, adipose and multiple tumour types, so systemic inhibition is not a narrowly targeted intervention.
